Reminicing!

I have been thinking alot about stuff from when I was a kid. One of those things is the Colecovision video game system. I had one when I was a kid, got many hours of enjoyment out of it too. Since we have moved into our house I don't recall where exactly the console went to so I thought for the heck of it I would check out e-bay. Yikes!! They haven't gone down in price let me tell ya! But I am going to wait and see. I did bid on some stuff but oh well what the hell! So if you wanna help me out go and out bid me.

High School Memories!!

Today as part of my cool job of running a coffee shop I got to go back to my old high school. There were a group of kids, very very talented kids, who are in a band called Intended Response. They were kind of having a year end concert of sorts and I was there to sell coffee to raise funds for the Arts program at the high school. I heard something pretty sad today. I guess that school board is cutting the Jazz Band. It's pretty bad, I was there when it was created. I am so disappointed because it seems as though we have alot of talent in this town. It was one of those things that it was because of band (yeah yeah I know I am a band geek) that I graduated from high school. Why is it that they always axe the arts first??? I really hate to imagine to see how much money this school has spent getting a football team!! Not that I am ragging on athletics because I am pretty sure that there are a few students out there who wouldn't be in school if it weren't for football, but I mean really???

Anyways I saw my old English teacher who failed me sooooo many times. When I was in his class I spent most of my time thinking of other things and not concentrating on how alot of the storylines of Shakespeare relate to 21st century life. The one thing that I did think was pretty cool is that he's been a teacher there for something like 30 years now, which is pretty remarkable when you think about it. Anyways he has a book with a list of students that he has taught over the years. Both my husband and myself are in there. He has always encouraged us to update it when ever we are around, so I went and chitchatted with him for a few minutes. He's pretty happy that I have been able to get so far, even though I failed two of his classes!

Getting prepped for the in-laws!!

So today was the last day of a sale at work where I could by a package of 24 toilet paper for $6, so what do I do, I buy two cases or eight packages!!!! I figure seems we have three bathrooms here at my house that we would probably probably use quite a bit in the three weeks that I am hosting my inlaws.

So it's about a month and ten days to go. I hope that my father-in-law has alot of fun. And I hope that my mother-in-law chills :);)

AND... it's less than 10 days to go until I get to see my HUSBAND!!!!

Pretty damn cool!

There was nothing interesting on tv tonight or so I thought. I ended up watching the Scripps spelling bee. It was pretty damn cool. A Canadian girl, from Alberta, Finola Hackett ended up second out of the whole thing. This is pretty huge when you think about it. This contest is pretty much the world championships of spelling and this girl from small town Alberta was only one letter (albeit a pretty damn close letter) away from taking the whole thing.

Congrats Finola!!

Three weeks in and I've got a meeting!

Tomorrow will mark the start of the third week into my new "management" job. Nothing like starting it off with a meeting with my manager and the General Manager for the entire Co-op!!! Part of me is kinda nervous, what happens if I am not presenting what they are looking for? Part of me is excited because I know what I am talking about. I spent just about every day of my 10 months in Sweden in a cafe or getting something at a cafe.

The thing that I find rather amusing is that the days that we do really well in terms of sales are the days that the older lady isn't there. I really don't like her either. Don't get me wrong she seems like a really nice lady but the thing is she is so misguided in so many ways that it's frustrating to keep her around. Everything that I try to change around and improve she tries to change it back. It's to the point that I am tempted to haul her into the office with my boss and confront her on it. The thing that really bothers me is that it is obvious that she would love to take a position of authority, it's totally written in her personality. If she wanted it so bad why didn't she apply for the position!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR Oh well she's off for three weeks starting next week so I guess that is one thing less that I have to deal with.

School is well school. The Religious Studies course that I am taking is more challenging than what I anticipated. I am kinda disappointed in all reality. The prof is sort of interesting in his own special way. Although you gotta give the guy credit. His wife is pregnant with twins for the first time around. The other course starts next week. And I am in a way not looking forward to it because well I am going to be pretty damn busy with that. But come June 30th I am going to be finished and I can start doing something better! WAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY BETTER!!

They've gone and done it again. They (www.slayradio.org)have put together another rousing combination of Swedish words to create the funniest thing ever in Swedish. The Swedes aren't known for their humor so this comes as a surprise!! Take a gander, you'll be happy you tired!!

How ironic eh!

Ok the last post that I put on here was this morning commenting on how much I do like my new job. Well... Ok ahhhhh.

Well, the thing is I am always looking for something better, something that uses the degree that I have worked so hard for. So needless to say I have been looking on the government websites at positions that want someone with my sort of education.

I think that I have found it... I just put an application in for a Probation Officer at the Drumheller Institution. To me it is a long shot, but I would be so excited to get an interview, at least this way I know what they would be looking for. I won't know until July, so this gives me an opportunity to really get stuff together at the Cafe so if I do have to leave, the next person that takes over won't be starting from square one like me (not that I am complaining, it makes me look busy!

The waiting begins again!

Did I mention how much I like my new job!!

It is a Monday, a holiday Monday and I am curled up in bed writing this post. It's not because I am sick or anything... no nothing like that at all. I am just enjoying a nice morning of sleeping in because I have the day off. I don't ever remember having a statutory holiday off. EVER!!!!

Ahhhhhh I think I am going back to sleep!!

Well I guess I'll cheer for the Oilers!!

Make that I am gonna cheer on the Oiler fans. They are pretty damn classy you know that. Apparently when the Oilers played their last game in Tampa, they booed the Canadian anthem (damn Americans!!). Pretty rude I think. Anyways last night when they played in Edmonton, the Oilers fans cheered so loud during the American anthem that the guy singing the anthem almost screwed up because he couldn't hear himself sing. To me that's pretty darn classy!!! So...

GO OILERS FANS GO!!!!

I am going to try a little experiment!

I think that I am going at this an old fashioned way, but then again most of the people who represent us in government are pretty much old fashioned middle aged men (sorry that I sound like a feminist, but is sort of true, you have to admit it!) I am going to start a letter writing campaign. I would love to see an immigration policy that emphasizes the reunification of spouses. I am frustrated with the way that the system operates. We started getting this stuff together almost a year ago and we still haven't even gotten everything required to even consider sending the application in. My husband is not a criminal, yes he has lived in alot of places and been to alot of countries but that shouldn't make him suspect to criminal activity. He is highly educated, hell he's bilingual for crying out loud. He wants to come to this country not only because he's married to someone who is a citizen here, but because he knows this is a good country to live in, and that this is a country whereby he can achieve his goals and create a good life for himself and his future family.

Mr. Harper, our immigration system needs a critical overhaul. It shouldn't take more than 10 months to get an RCMP criminal record check. For someone who has twice previously been given student visas to study in this country and now wants to call this beloved country home, it is hard to not to feel disappointed, outraged, and highly frustrated. It is obvious that widening the tax base is not one of your priorities!! Think about it, the more taxes you can collect the more money you can give back to families for wasteful tax credits.

Immigration is our only hope in sustaining the growth of this country. We have such potenital and it seems that denying entry to those who would like to enter is going to be detrimental to this country's future. I would hate for my children to have to experience the frustration that I have, and I would also hate to see my children have to move to a different country should they decide to marry someone who is not Canadian.

I like my new job!

Wow! I have so much to do! The last manager that they had there did leave me much to work with so I pretty much have to start from square one. I am not complaining though because in reality I enjoy doing this sort of thing. I get to do alot of administrative stuff, and I get to promote stuff too which has some perks to the job as well. I am hoping that this will pan out into something more. But for now I am just going to enjoy the fact that I have finally earned myself a management position! Not to mention all the coffee I could possibly consume!!

Shout Out! GET WELL RACHY!!

I just thought that I would send a shout out to Rachy, one helluva girl from Down Under who is stuck in hospital for what looks like a long time!
Get well soon eh, the internet is not as fun anymore because you aren't posting!!

Finally a little recognition!!

I don't complain about too many things. I figure that I am pretty lucky to be where I am. However when the subject comes to my in-laws the story can be a little different. I have known this family for nearly 10 years and most of the time I feel like a fish out water, especially when it comes to my mother-in-law. Anyways they have a website promoting their various business ventures, on one part it highlights the family. Not normally this wouldn't bother me however my sister-inlaw's boyfriend was mentioned and I was not. (My husband and I have been together for nearly 10 years while her boyfriend (who is rather handy to have around) and her have been together for only somethng like three or four years now) You kinda see what I am getting at here.

So it's feels kinda nice. Although there's is substantial room for improvement...

I'll just leave it at that, after all I am not ungrateful.

Coffee Talk

So I have had two days on the job now and I have come the to conclusion that running a coffee shop is going to keep me busy. I have so much administrative stuff to do that it will take me weeks and weeks to get it up to snuff. AND then! I also have alot of promoting to do. All day Thursday all I heard was that they didn't know that this place existed. I am hoping to get my sales up so that this seems legitimate and not just some phase in history.

Mental Health

Am I ever glad that I don't work at the local meat packing plant.

Yesterday one guy came unglued and started throwing knives around.

Yeah I am thinking that there should be mental health assessment done on some of these people!!

I'm a Manager!!

Oh my gosh!!!!! I can't believe it, I went down this morning to find out whether or not I was going in for an interview. Well I got taken upstairs and told that I had the job if I wanted it!!!

COOL!!!

So the wage isn't great, oh well. But I get benefits and after a year I will qualify to for pension benefits as well.

SO... I guess I am going to give it a try. At least my friend Tara is excited to see me coming back!!!

It's getting closer!

Okay my house looks like a florist shoppe.
I get reply cards just about everyday now in the mail.
It's almost a month now until hubby gets here.
And now things are starting to come into place.
Plans are being made for a bridal shower.
And plans are getting made for Max as well.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Wow I am getting married all over again!!!

A major sign you live in the middle of nowhere!!!

I haven't been able to get ahold of my husband on a landline for over three days now. Why? Because the underground phone line was severed in the little village that he lives close to!!! OI!

Got a job interview!

I got a job interview for Tuesday morning!! It's for a receptionist position at a welding shop in Red Deer. It's part-time until Fall which turns into a full-time position. Ooooo I could handle that, with all my in-laws coming over this summer I can handle working only part-time! Still haven't heard about the coffee shop thing, but then again I gotta wait until early next week.

Can't say that I didn't try!

So it has come to my attention that they are looking for a Manager for the coffee shop in the local Co-op. It sounds really interesting, I mean I fell in love with the whole cafe lifestyle in Sweden. It's something that I have thought about doing on my own, and I guess that this is an opportunity to see if I would actually like doing something like this.

So this morning, after laying in bed and thinking about it for over an hour I decided to get up and get dressed and hand in my resume. The worst that can happen is that either I say no (not enough money) or they say no (because I want too much money). So I get there and the lady in the administration office makes me fill out an application form (ha ha ha, I worked there for over 5 years and they want me to fill out an application form??) so as it turns out, the HR lady is across the street and they call my old manager! I think that this is pretty funny because the guy is one of my references on my resume!! So he's standing there dumbfounded, he doesn't know what questions to ask me, because he knows me and he knows what experience I have had and knows that I can be trusted (hell I used to run the whole grocery on the weekends!!)

So he said that he would give me a call at the beginning of the week. I guess that I am going to have to wait and see. I hope that I get it, because it would mean that I wouldn't have to drive so far for work, I get to work at place that I am familiar with and I get to try something that I think would be a great starting point for opening my own business.

Do I cheer for the Oilers???

Okay seems I haven't had to work in a while I have been left to my own thoughts, which if you read this regularily means that this is a very dangerous thing for me.

I was able to watch some of the hockey game last night and well I was disappointed. Hopes were high this year, this was going to be the year that Calgary brought the cup back to Canada... Western Canada. Unfortunately it was not to be for the Flames. Now I am stuggling with a thought. Actually I am trying to decide if this is scary or not. Do I cheer for the Oilers???

This would go against every grain in my body. Maybe I'll go with hubby on this one and cheer for the Senators!! At least there would be some color semblance!

Wednesday, May 03, 2006

This sucks!

So the Flames lost. Bummer! I was hoping that they would make it all the way this time. So now I guess that I have to do something that is not entirely in my nature. I am going to the cheer for the Oilers. Even the Habs (my hubby's favorite team) got knocked out.

I guess there is always next year. At least if the cup ends up in Alberta, the magic may rub off on Calgary.

Going back to class in three days!

Wow I can't believe this, I am going back to class on Saturday. I am taking a Religious Studies class, it's an option to finish off my degree. Now I haven't got a clue as to what the difference is between God and Allah and I am hoping that I will know once I am finished. I just wish that I could take the course about Eastern religion because I think it's more my thing anyways!!

If you have something constructive to add, please do. If you want to preach to me, don't! I have no need for someting like that!

Spending the day at home

I really hate this! I am at home today because I didn't called into work today. So I got to sleep in yadda yadda. But I got to thinking this morning, it's pretty bad, when I am at home I'd rather be at work and when I am at work I'd rather be at home. I just hope that I am able to find something that makes me look forward to getting out of bed, getting all dressed up to go to work. I wonder if there is such a thing out there! Hmmmmmmmm here's hoping!

Tuesday, May 02, 2006

Ahhhhhhhh

Okay so I did really good today, got lots of little things done!

I ordered my grad pictures.
I finished my wedding registries.
I got my dog groomed (but they didn't do a good job of his ears or his tail).
I got started on my new resume.
Sent off a bunch of important papers and stuff.

It's less than 40 some days until my hubby comes, that will be nice. Someone to snuggle with :):):)

Monday, May 01, 2006

Yeah I know that it has been a while. Been rather busy the last few weeks.

Let me see, got school all finished up, I am still waiting for a course mark in one more course and then that will be all finished up.

Got the bridesmaids their dresses!! That was easy!

Started working as a Unit Assitant and found out that I really am not keen on it. I am looking for an office job. Something where I am not on my feet all the time.

Got almost all of my wedding invitations sent out, and the registry is almost finished!

I start classes again on Saturday.

So now what is left to do:
Redo my resume, if you got any suggestions or you wanna take a look leave me a message in the comments section. Quite frankly it is high school crap, it needs to say fresh university graduate!

Clean the basement

Get rid of the junk

Wait for Max to get here

and...

GO TO BED!!

I know my mom had to stop by the liquor store on the way home from work tonight!
So now I take a few days off and enjoy some freedom! Bottoms up!

Is it going to be third time lucky??

I got an e-mail from my husband this morning. Apparently his fingerprints for his Canadian criminal record check was rejected yet again!!! This is the second time that he has sent them in. The thing that makes this blow to the head even harder to take this time was that apparently a letter was sent back in January but he didn't get it!!

And of course per usual, this happens when I am busy with stuff for school. I have been trying to write a paper for my sociology of law class for days now (ironically enough it is on immigration laws and policies) and preparing for finals. I hope that in a way that when my husband comes over this summer for a visit that the criminal record check that you have to pay for will be suffice, either that or I will hire someone who is a expert at fingerprinting to get this done so we can start the application process. I'm beginning to wonder if hiring a lawyer would be a good idea as well. I'd love to sue the RCMP for something related to this. Maybe this way I could get my grumpy husband to be happy again. I hate it when he gets cranky on me.

Last minute crush!

I had a rather enlightening meeting yesterday with one the new profs at school, who is totally cool and I am kinda bummed out that I don't have school next year. Anyways she's totally understanding that I have been stressed out and that I haven't gotten my poop in group. (fuck Gail!) Anyways she is so nice enough to let me finish everything and mark it all for me. I am almost finished writing my article reviews, but I smell funny, really funky to be truthful. I had a really weird night. My tv is short circutting for some strange reason. I was working on my computer and listening to the tv and kept on turning off and on, freakin me out so I had to unplug it. I worked for a while and then went to bed because I was getting frustrated. Mom brought down the dog at about 5:30 this morning because well it's what we do, anyways he kept on coughing and stuff so I didn't sleep well this morning so I didn't get out of bed until late this morning which threw everything off. I am doing good though. I should be finished everything by friday, party on saturday and then back to the books for finals next week! OHHHHH I am so almost finished.

60 days until Max gets here, thank fuckin christ!! Can u say sexually frustrated!?!

POST 200!!

Ohh what a milestone!

Last day of classes at RDC!

Oh my gosh, here I am some eight years later and this is my final day of classes. I am so nervous and keyed up right now because I haven't slept in something like 3 or 4 days now, I've lost track, becuase of stuff related to school. All sorts of stuff has been going on, I have had to readjust my schedule at U of C because the decided to cancel one of the courses that I had signed up for. Not to worry though as it turns out I was able to readjust my schedule so that I can start work at a different department two months earlier than I had anticipated. Which is awesome. I have finished writing 4 papers within the last five days which is pretty remarkable, for me. I still have one paper left to write right now and I am rather stressed out because I came to school with the intention of going to one of my classes and it was cancelled, oops missed too many of them!! So now I am thinking shit I could have been spending this time working on this paper that I still have due but instead I am stuck here at school, killing time and getting more and more nervous about my final presentation in my Sociology of development course!!

I had to have a little giggle to myself though. Here I am, this is my last day of classes and I am just as nervous now and I was my first day here. I don't know if I have come full circle on this one yet. I don't know if I really want to leave here and grow up (so to speak). I think that is why I am considering coming back and getting a two year add-on for a Bachelors in Social Work.

I am prepared however to celebrate, after all I have put in a rather decent effort to achieve this. I am still the only person in my family who has gone to university and has gotten a degree. That's a pretty big achievement. It's a pretty big achievement for someone who was told in the first grade by her teacher that I wouldn't amount to a whole lot.

And so now I wait...

Less than a week to go!!!

It's really starting to be crunch time... and what am I doing right now????? I am currently at the library at school looking for articles to finish up a paper that I should have done like a week ago, make that two weeks ago but we were given extensions and well I just used that as excuse to start the paper last week! I just finished reading through 13 articles and found that 7 of them were applicable, so now I came back for another 7 to hopefully get my 10 articles!!! Not to mention that I decided that I should also find some more articles for my sociology of law paper as well! GRRRR. Ohhhh and then to top it all off I haven't even started to think about my Sociology of Development paper which was supposed to be on Tuesday but will hopefully be done sometime saturday when I sit down and do it. I really do hate to be late with all of these but my motivation is kaput, and my husband is being a moron to boot...

I don't want to move to Vasteras!

One week left!

I'm having a complete meltdown point right now. I have so much left to do and so little time left to do it. I didn't get anything done on Sunday because I had a rather rough day at work and well how on earth can you write about eating and sleeping disorders when you know that someone just died! I think that is the only problem that I am going to have with this new job of mine. I don't deal with death well, I never have. In fact my father's death still bugs me to this day because well to me it is still a strange and weird thing, hence the recurring dreams where logic just isn't right!!!

Back to the books, if I keep going I just might be able to get three assignments that I was supposed to do throughout the term done before the last class! OOOOHHH!

One step closer to being gone!!

Ohhhh it's getting interesting here in good ol' Alberta. The winds of change are a blowin' like a well welcomed winter chinook.

Yeah I know I know. I am in fine writing form right now!! It's silly season again and I just can't help it!

Should he stay or should he go!

The big buzz around these parts is the astonishingly bad leadership review of Ralph Klein. 55%! Boy, I knew it was going to be not nearly as good as last time but 55%! Wow! I think that he better take the hint and leave while things are still good. Let someone take over who is willing to invest in some good infrastructure to keep things going instead of hitting that proverbial brick wall! It's gonna happen if he doesn't leave!!

Thursday, March 30, 2006

Ohhhh I want a nap!!

Right now I am in the midst of writing papers for school, (yeah I am late on two again SURPRISE SURPRISE!!) but at least I am motivated to get stuff done. I have so much left to do and I am going to get it all done, I have the ground work all complete just gotta sit down and write.

Yesterday was an interesting day. I spent the day reading stuff, researching and all that other stuff. I was in the process of counting out quarters because I was flat ass broke and thought just incase the notion strikes that I would like something, the phone rings. It's a natural gas company that deals with my natural gas rights that I inherited from my grandmother (bless her wicked little soul ;) ). Anyways they were in the process of cutting me a royalty check and they just wanted to double check my address and see if I wanted to divulge my banking information just on the off chance that I wanted to have it directly deposited in my bank account.

Today has been a good day though. I was up early this morning reading, sent my car to the shop to get an oil change, found out that my tax refund was deposited in my account (which couldn't have come at a better time), and in that time found out that my credit card is maxed out! And to top it off I have to purchase extended warranty for my car!!

As for things coming up... I start on a different unit tomorrow at work. I hope it's a little less walking around this time around because my knee is bugging me badly this week. I have three days of work and then school starts all over again! Next week I have three papers due, one of which I haven't been able to get the information that I need. GRRRRRR But then again that's seems to be the way things have been going for me lately! Still on track to graduate this summer and I can't wait. I need to work, I need to make some money to pay off that nasty nasty credit card!!

Monday, March 27, 2006

I'm still here!

I know that I haven't posted something in days but I do have a very good reason for that!! I have been pretty busy with my new job!! The hardest thing that I do is make a bed or fill up the med cart!! It's pretty nice. I am not getting yelled at or told that the job that I am doing is total crap or anything negative like that. I get to interact with a whole bunch of people.

There is one really sad aspect of this job that I cannot deny, with our aging population alot of people that were in the ward that I was working (Diabetic/Cardiac)is also a temporary home to quite a number of people who are awaiting placement in a continuing care facility. And judging my the little walk about that my partner and I did yesterday, there are many people in other units that shouldn't be there but we have no placement for them in our health care system! It's pretty sad to see that in the richest province in Canada that we can not take care of our aging citizens!

I told my mom this morning that if I was ever to become demented that the best thing to be done would be to just take me out to the back fourty and just do away from me. That way I would not be a stress on my family, their resources, and my society.

Three weeks left and counting!

So it was brought to my attention last night we have three weeks left and well quite frankly it's a nice thought. I am starting to get tired of the thought that I have a ton of reading to do and 5 papers to write. Oh well can't complain it finally seems like spring here!

Have I lost my freakin head!!!

I got talking with prof yesterday morning, it was so early in the morning for me that I felt completely disorientated!! The reason why I was talking with her is because I have to do an article review for a paper that she wrote last year. It was really interesting for me because it was about the media protrayl of a woman who's child had died and she was found criminally responsible for the death. Anyways I was reading it is found that I love bashing the media and the media portrayl of different stories. And well it got me thinking...

I think that in a few years time I should go back to school. That's right, I am not even finished getting this BA finished and I am thinking that I want to do more! Here, I have been so complacent about things at school and all I really needed was some inspiration. So I think that I am going to look around and see what I can do and go from there. I figure that if I can get things to where they are supposed to be I just might end up getting a MA in Communications. NICE!!!

The most airheaded comment I have ever heard!

This past weekend was our annual Student Perspectives Conference at RDC. It went well, we had lots of interesting papers presented and everything but there is still one thing that is bugging the crap out of me and this is days after the fact!!!

There is this one girl, who for the life of me, is living in a dream world. She speaks very passionately about being an utopian socialist, which around here is worse than what I am!!

Anyways we were discussing the recent blood drive that was at our school. I was bummed out because the one time that I actually have the time to do it I can't because of the tattoos that I got back in November. Anyways this girl pipes up that the reason why she didn't do it is because she fears that her blood will go to some one who favors conservative views!

Here is one person who preaches that we should care enough to fight poverty in third world countries, fair trade, and yadda yadda yadda and yet to donate blood to save a person's life is just too much. So much for the good will to all men eh!

GP is checkin me out!

I checked Statcounter last night and I found that there was a hit from the GP server.
Wow that's pretty cool.

For those of you who are wondering what in the hell is GP, it is actually short-hand for Goteborgs Posten, which is the daily newspaper in Goteborg which is the city that I lived close to when I lived in Sweden. It is pretty much the reading staple in Max's mom and dad's house in Sweden. Hell I am pretty sure that you could find papers that are at least 10 years old in that house. Actually come to think of it I have a paper from the last time I was there. I think that the only thing that I read was the third section to see what I was missing on TV that night!

This is what happens when I take a leadership role!

Many people often remark that when it comes to a group effort thing I tend to take a back seat and let someone else take the lead, there is a rather simple reason for this: I DON'T WANT TO LOOK LIKE THE BITCH!!!!

Anyways in regards to the circumstances of me quitting my job at the laundry I will make it certainly clear. The one time that I have ever seriously had to step up and take the leadership role (quite frankly because the rest of them are too fucking lazy) I get my ass kicked! Seriously if this is how the rest of the real world works, I want a cubicle!

Has this ever happened to you?!?!

This question is posed for you out there who have gone through the whole post-secondary education thang! Is it really designed so that by the time that you are ready to graduate that you are so ready to just admit yourself to the local mental health hospital because you simply can not take it any more!?!

This week is crazy! Not only do I have my regular classes but on top of that I am doing Student Feedback Surveys (which aren't bad becuase you get paid like 10/hr for 10 minutes of work. Then I have a major paper due on Thursday. I sit down to read to pick out interesting stuff for the paper and the articles which I had ordered in are total crap, so now I am left with two days of getting stuff in to do this paper! My Tuesday class which has literally been a gong show since the beginning of term has the serious potential right now of being cancelled which I have no idea how this is going to affect most of us graduating this term. It does and doesn't affect me. I haven't applied to graduate yet, some have and this could seriously screw them up.

And the icing on the cake ( which right now is starting to look rather half-baked and lopsided!) is that I start my new job on Friday! Cool!

Should I be booking a bus ticket to Ponoka????

Spring???? I don't think so!!!

Monday is the first day of spring here but you can hardly imagine it right now with yet another 5 cm of snow on the ground!! AHHHHH SPRING SKIING!!!!! Edmonton got slammed with something like 20 cm. Poor buggers, they have had it rough up there this winter. It seems like you get north of Wetaskawin and you're pretty much in a winter wonderland, or winter hell, depends on your perspective of snow!

I just don't get it!

I went out last night for St. Patty's day and had a total of two drinks, and a huge ass glass of water and a big koobie bun and I woke up this morning with a hangover. I am thinking it is the lack of sleep but I slept way too much this week!

I had fun though, got to play a game of is a chick or a guy!?! Not to mention there was a creepy guy who wanted to dance with us. Instead he just stared at this one fat chick who's boobs were falling out of her shirt. YUCK!!!

It's confirmed! I'm not faking it!!

As you know I went for an MRI last week. The results are in and there is definitely something wrong with my knee. Apparently there is something that is about the size of a quarter floating around in my knee causing all sorts of havoc. So now that I have waited nearly six months for an MRI I now have to wait for a appointment with a specialist and then more than likely another wait for surgery!!

But the good news today is that I'm not faking it!!

Renaming my blog....

Let's face it the title of my blog is rather uninteresting and not creative at all. Infact it is rather generic. I want to rename it but I am not to sure what I should rename it as. Here's a few but they all seem so similar

Confessions of a Tim Horton's Addict
Adventures of a Tim Horton's Addict
The Mis-Adventures of a TIm Horton's Addict

Tales of a Rusticated Life
My-So-Called Rusticated Life

Yeah they all seem so similar. Please leave me some suggestions!

I need to clean my car!

I went to school this morning and stopped for my usual Timmy Ho's and I looked over to the passenger side of my car and thought that I have to do something with all the garbage in my car. I have wrappers from bagels that I eat on the road, because well let's face it I am too damn lazy to get out of bed in time to make my own breakfast!! I have petrified timbits, empty coffee cups, coats, mitts, gloves and hats! Not to mention books, journal articles, and CD's. The outside looks just as bad as the inside!! Someone boogered on my car, and the windows desparately need to be cleaned. In all actuality I am surprised that I have not been pulled over yet because of the disaster that is my car!!! I just wish that it would warm up a bit so I could go and get it washed and then maybe I wouldn't feel so bad about treating my inheritance so disrespectfully!

I'm seeing a light at the end of the tunnel!

So I start my new position on the 24th, which is totally cool, it pretty much gives me a week to get everything finished and start the other position that I said that I would do which starts on the 20th! I can't wait to be finished!! It's getting closer and closer. Just a little over a month from now I am will be start the last two courses of my degree. I think that I have lost something like 5 pounds in the last two days because I have been bouncing around so much!!

WOW!

Ok so I went a quit my job at the Laundry! It was pretty easy. Basically someone told me that there were a few girls going behind my back and saying that I was being too bossy. Yeah! That's it I was out! I shocked a few people, but what else is new.

So now I call in the morning to see when I start at my other new job, oh and the whole contract job this is totally awesome! I work for like a week and a half and get paid killer for it. It's going to be nice to pay the bills.

After I quit I went to a friend's house to discuss what I did! Actually we had a few drinks to celebrate. After that I got a coffee before class, I rolled-up-the-rim and won a coffee.

'Tis a good day indeed!

How do I do this one!?!

Yesterday was undoubtedly the worse day working ever!! I go out to get a coffee and I get my head ripped off and a new asshole! Apparently I fucked up last weekend, tell me how, I was just following directions from my supervisor! So anyways I called this morning to the other job that I just got and I can start right away if I want to, ummmm not really! I have a conference to go to this weekend and so I'd kinda like to do that instead!! I'll have to wait and see I have training today for the contract job that I took as well. Ahhhhhh these are the choices everyone would love to have wouldn't they!!!

Friday, March 10, 2006

I got yet another job!

I got a phone call from one of the ladies that interviewed me last week for a Unit Assitant position. I honestly didn't think that I would get it because it turned out that I wouldn't be able to work as much as I thought that I would be able to. Anyways I got a phone call today, well a voicemail was left, saying that I got the job! Wow. So I will call on Monday morning and find out what is going on. WOW!!!

My mamma and Arlene!

I was looking at my photos from our trip to Sweden last fall and I came across this one. Arlene is my mom's best friend and well she's pretty much the next best thing to an aunt/grandmother that I have.

Harper could be on his way out!!

Damn! It didn't take him long to screw up!! Apparently he violated some legislative act when he appointed Emerson!! SWEET!!!

I finally won!!

I scraped together a whole $2.10 for an english toffee cappuchino and I finally won a free coffee!

Something for future consideration

So I graduate this summer and I can't wait. Finding a job in which I can use my degree and my knowledge of all sorts of different things is going to be difficult I realize that. I have no ambition at this point to go forth to do post-graduate studies, after what I have been through the last couple of years I think that I am just fit leaving it at that! But apparently, according to my friends, I should become some sort of sex therapist. Cool, I love talking about sex but can I actually do this with just a bachelors degree!?! My father would freak if he knew what I was doing this with my degree!

Roll up the rim is a hoax!!

Ok I think I go to Tim Horton's on average about twice a day. I haven't won a thing since this year's roll up the rim to win contest started. What gives? 1 in 9 chance to win? I think it's more like 1 in 20!

Baby boom in Calgary!

This year it is predicted that there will be over 15,000 babies will be born in Calgary this year! Yeah as if I already didn't feel inadequate enough as it is! My second cousin who is 5 years younger than me just had a baby, quite a number of people that I graduated from high school with are expecting. Man, I am just married and finishing school!

Wanna become the Liberal Party Leader???

Let Rick Mercer and his team help you out. Go to www.ebay.ca and search for Liberal Leadership Kit. Please anything would be better than that moron that we have for a Prime Minister!

Some relief at last!

So I went to my class that I thought was going to be a total disaster because we hadn't done much. Well relief!! The guy came in today with a total game plan, something that we all agree that is well over due! So now I have to finish off the midterm that put off just in case I decided to drop the course. So now I don't have the shakes any more and I don't feel like I am going to scream my full head off!

My hubby!

Here's a photo of my dear husband with his little Fiat (actually it's his parents but he drives more than they do!). Yeah he's a little strange but I love that about him!

Condolences:

My heart goes out to Dana's Reeves children. Wow what a profound loss.

Judgement day!

So I have been taking this one course where the prof is a sweetheart. But that is about the only thing that is redeeming about him. We have less than 6 weeks left in the course and we literally only have 5% of the final mark determined and even then we don't know what the mark is! So now there are about 6 of us that are really very concerned because these are the last courses that we have to take for our degree, we don't want to have to withdraw from the course, but we don't know what else to do. That's all I need! MORE STRESS!!!

Experimenting

I have been asked why I don't put some of my photos on here so here I go. I am going to post a picture, it seems much easier than it used to be on here!

The MRI experience

Wow! Interesting and freakin scary! You learn in school that these machines are capable of all sorts of things, awesome imaging, and that anythng metal will get caught up in the magnetic field. So I get in there and I took great care to make sure that I didn't have any metal on me. About 5 minutes in I remember that I forgot to take out an earring. So I am lying there with my funky gown with my fat ass hanging out, the funky surgical cap, and my headphones on with the radio and all I can think about are three things:

1) I hope like hell that my ear doesn't get ripped off
2) I hope that I don't have an immediate urge to go to the bathroom
3) I hope that my feet don't fall asleep because I'd have to wiggle my toes to wake them up and I can't move my lower body or it would screw everything up.

So now I wait for a week for the results. I can't wait to find out.

Dutch door-to-door kid!

Ok I am just sitting here getting some stuff done and this teenage kid shows up on my doorstep. He's selling some sort of wares (they look like stuff you'd buy at the dollar store). I told him that I was not interested and the next thing that he does is that he asks me for a donation.

Usually people who go door-to-door sport some sort of identification, not this kid. Weeeeeeeeeird. Straaaaaaaaaaaaaange!

Frustration breaking point!

Okay, so I thought that because I have remote access to both the U of C library and the RDC library that I just might be able to get some work done here at home. Oh boy was I every wrong about that one! So now I have to go to school alot earlier than I wanted to just so I can get some articles ordered before next week. On the bright side I can go to Timmy's for the third time today. Ah, I love Roll-up-the-rim!

Most inapproprate thought of the day... (eventhough it was thought yesterday!)

Mom: geesh your aunts have put on alot of weight

Me: doesn't vouch well for their breast cancer does it??

Oscar surprise!

I am not a big movie buff, I watch alot of movies, but I don't dig the whole, it's a great movie and it won this award thing! However I must admit that I am a little disheartened that Brokeback Mountain didn't win. The storyline is new and refreshing. AND IT WAS FILMED IN ALBERTA!!! But I do have to admit that I am pretty happy that Reese Witherspoon won best actress though, Keira Knightley was a close second though!

Whoo hoo! MRI today!

I have been waiting since September for a MRI on my knee! I can't wait to find out what is wrong and maybe go out skiing before all the snow melts away!

Paul McCartney: Terrorist!

Neat thought isn't it??

web stats script

One of those days...

I'm listening to Matt Good right now because I seem like I am in one of those brooding moods. Frustration seems to be getting the best of me and well this time it was rather self-inflicted and I should have known better!

Anyways I am going to go in order of my day because it seems like that is some semblance of normalacy ( I can't spell worth a shit and I don't fuckin feel like correcting it) (see told ya!):

So this morning I got up for work as per usual, I really didn't feel like working this morning. I am sorry but since a certain chica from Chile returned back to Canada, I don't seem nearly as excited to work. Anyways I get into work this morning and I find out that the other girl from my department that got interviewed for CSR and got the job decided to accept the offer of employment, which is totally awsome because she is a blast to work with. The reason why she accepted the offer is because of our supervisor's is a royal pain in the ass, and she basically made the other girl's mind up for her. So after that little convo it was time to get some work done. I am not even suited up and this one girl, whom I can't decide if I like her or not (verdict swings each time she opens her mouth!) freaks on me. Apparently the queen bitch found out that she was getting written up by the new guy for being too negative ( um HELLO!!!) and some how I got instagated as for letting her in on it. Someone please tell me why on earth why I would do something so absolutely stupid! I have to work with these people, why would I create dividing lines? Once I got that all cleared up and told her that it was the Chilean chica who is thought to be behind it all she dropped it. So being stuck with the Chilean chica wasn't too bad, but I tell ya I am looking forward to June when I am movin out of there and into a more "hospital" environment.
Work was a fiasco at the end of the day because the girls in cart makeup were not getting the stuff that they need in more ways than one. I got out of that one pretty easily! I had to go to my second cousin's baby shower.

Here's where things get even more interesting:
This is the first "family" thing that both my mom and I have been to since my father died almost three years ago. (Long story short on this one: My father was an alcoholic (more than the others on his side) and his family decided that they should just completely disown him because he had been unable to kick the habit and that made him worthless in their eyes.) So mom and I show up to the shower, almost two hours late because I had to come home from work and shower. My cousin was happy to see me, and she hands to me her three-week old like "here cus I trust you!" Wow! Pretty cool. So my aunt walks up to me and with the usual nose up in the air and says hello and walks past. I am sorry but I was invited and unlike you I am happy for my little cousin. Anyways, it took me about a good 45 minutes to feel comfortable enough to go and sit down amongst them. And when I do I can't help but notice that two of my aunts that were so critical of my father and yet are getting shitfaced on wine right in front of me. It was also pretty harsh of my aunt to say that she is "coming to terms with the fact that she's now a "great-grandmother"". My mother noticed that I spent more time biting my tongue than anything else, I could have said soooooo many things but I held back because afterall and somehow I am the bigger person in all of this! Another thing that I noticed as well is that pretty much all of my cousins married young and had kids pretty young. I AM THE ONLY ONE TO GET A UNIVERSITY DEGREE! I have lived my life so much differently than all of them that I think I have earned the right to say fuck off! So anyways once pretty much everyone had left mom and I helped out with the dishes, no body else was helping my cousin, and my aunt referred to my mother and I as slaves! I couldn't fucking believe it! But then again she was probably so drunk that she didn't realize what she was saying. My other cousin was complaining about her saggy eyebrows. She can't even properly feed her children and she taking time off to go for surgery to fix her eyebrows. Something wrong with that I think! It's no wonder that she is single.

So now I sit waiting for the fall out from what could be a very interesting next few months as I prepare to graduate from school and get married yet again. I hardly ate anything because I told my cousin rather decretely how on earth am I going to fit into my wedding dress. I did not dare touch a glass of alcohol just to escape potential comments.

Yeah it is just one of those days!

Oh my aching head!!

I love chinooks, don't get me wrong, but I hate what they do to both my mom and I. I have been getting really bad headaches as of late. Yeah I think that I better get another bottle of liquid advil!

Ralphie boy loses his temper!

So I don't remark much about Alberta politics. But this one I kinda have to make mention about because it just goes to show that Ralphie boy is off his rocker in more than one sense!

Yesterday in a debate in the Alberta legislature Ralph Klein threw a Liberal platform booklet at a page and calling the socument a piece of crap. Realizing this he did apologize to the young girl immediately. But it kinda makes you wonder what on earth this man is thinking about! This was the man who took a bold move and got this province out of debt and turned things around. But with things looking so much better over a decade later one would think that he would use this wealth to improve so many things like health care, education, post secondary education, and some major infrastructure projects, and dealing with growing cities and some of thier problem, but no he some how decides that the best way to share the wealth is to give every man, woman and child in the province $400 to spend one what ever they choose. I think that he should get out while things are still good. Let someone else, with a clearer vision of the future take the reigns away from Ralphie boy.

As for the young page, I hope that you do not become dismayed by the act of our premier and politics is something that if she feels that passionate about that she should pursue it. I think Ralph should pay her way through school!!

Awesome day!

I know it's only 5 in the evening, but this has been a pretty damn good day!

I woke up this morning not wanting to go to work at all. But I am glad that I went. As it turned out I ended up getting a surprise job interview. I don't get the job just yet because my school schedule doesn't allow for it but, come June I am going to have the opportunity to try out surgical processing. I am pretty excited about it. It's different and it is everchanging so that is nice. One of the other girls that I work with in the laundry also got a position and so now she debates at whether or not she takes it.

My presentation for my one class went well and I was able to come up with a topic right away for a paper in the same class as well.

And my other friend from work wants to do lunch and costco tomorrow after my other job interview. Awesome, this is so nice and refreshing!!

Wednesday, March 01, 2006

Woah, that was scary!

Where did that come from! Just checked statcounter. That storm must have been something yesterday because someone spent over 9 hours on my blog! AND DIDN'T WRITE A THING!!!!!!!!
OI!

I think that my motivation is back from vacation!!!

I am rather shocked at what I have been able to accomplish within the last few days!!
Monday night after finishing my brain and behavior examination ( I really really don't want to know what I got on it because the one exam that wrote for reading week I bombed on!) I went to the library with some of my classmates to straighten out the absolutely monstrous mess that is my development of sociology class. After about an hour of wrangling about we finally found out that the crazy ass ( and I do mean that it is absofuckinglutely crazy!!) midterm that was due the next day was postponed and that the class was also cancelled which was a good thing because it snowed like hell! Anyways... I was able to research for two papers that night in the library, which in turn I was able to get a paper proposal which is due in about a hours time done as well. So I went to bed pretty pround of myself on monday night because I actually got a few things done.
Yesterday, mom had the day off. I really didn't want to spend the whole day doing school work and ignoring her so instead we decided that it was time to go and get our taxes done. We were getting totally ripped off at this accountant place that we have been using for a number of years because last year I didn't get all the income tax money back that I should have! Anyways that took about 3 hours of my life. Watching this old guy on the computer was rather painstaking. He fucked up on mine. He added an extra zero some where and I was going to get something like $11000 at one point. I couldn't believe it! He looked at me as said it with such a straight face, meanwhile mom and I are looking at each other like "what the fuck??" Anyways as it turns out I get something like $1700 back which is nice, that means that I can pay off my bed and have a nice summer when the hubby gets here. Did I also mention that my in-laws are coming?? Yeah I bet you can see the real excitement about that one eh! So after that long drawn out process mom and I decided that it is snowing so much that we should stop at the bar and have a drink, for me it was a drink and lunch. Nice thing that the bar is only 2 blocks away because I swear that if we had to walk any further in 15 cm of snow I was going to lose it on my mom!
We get home that evening and the news is barely over and mom complains that she is restless. So I put her to work. 3 1/2 hours and 44 invitations later I have my invitations put together and they are envelopes! I still have to put an address on them and send them out but at least they are half way there!
Then this morning oh my gosh!! I got up early, I couldn't sleep, the dog was driving me nuts and my mom was up. So I got up and got my butt into school early enough that I could get a few complaints in. I am sorry but I pay over $150/yr to park here at Red Deer College it was like driving your car into a snowcovered field this morning..... soooo not impressed with that! The exam that I wrote this morning was a complete joke!! I didn't study for it because to me it was a complete waste of time. I guessed most of the answers and judging by some of the discussions that I had with other people, my guesses were right! So after class I went to see if anything I had ordered for my papers had arrived yet, two articles and that was it, good! Went to the bookstore to go and get a Mini Cruzer they wanted over $120 for a 1GB mini Cruzer. I don't think so! I went to Costco and got 2 for the price of 1! Then I went and got some babyshower gifts for my cousin who had just had a baby girl!! I also made an appointment to get grad photos, an appointment to get my hair done for grad photos, and I also got ahold of payroll at work. I finally made the next pay increment!!!! So now I search for something to eat. I have class in about an hour and I need something to get me through. GOD I WISH I WAS A CRACK ADDICT!!!!! ha ha hahahaha hahaha ha haha

It's that time of year again!

IT'S ROLL UP THE RIM TO WIN TIME AT TIM HORTON'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This the next best thing to Christmas, I get to increase my coffee consumption for a reason!

I checked my statcounter just now and just happened to notice that I had a visitor from Helsinki, Finland. Himmmmmmmm interesting, very very interesting!

I did it!

I am actually sitting in the library doing research for get this... wait for it... TWO PAPERS!!!! I figured seems that I was done early with one of my midterms that I would actually be productive and get some researching done! I feel so great about this. I am actually going to have enough stuff to write a 15 page paper on the history, gender aspects, and ethnic aspects of the Canadian Immigration Act! I have ordered something like 15 books of the U of A law library to get started!! Plus I have found some journal articles to juice it up!!! Yeahhhhhhh I am sooo happy!!

The other paper I have yet to finish researching. I am thinking of doing it on sleep because it seems that I always obssess about it all the time. I swear if I didn't have my husband that is all that I would do, besides reading in bed!!!

Other good stuff is happening too. I finally got my wedding invitations, so I have sent off all the urgent ones to Europe and I will probably end up getting the rest of them done here this weekend, that is if I am not busy enough with the HUGE ASS midterm that I have due next week, after getting another week extention, even though we were supposed to get two weeks to work on the fuckin thing anyways!!

But I better get back to what I am supposed to be doing, plus I still gotta drive home tonight!

And so the countdown to Vancouver 2010 begins!!!

So according to the CBC there are 1446 days to go! I am really excited. I don't remember much from the 1988 Olympics in Calgary. All I remember is that we got the day off of school when the torch relay came to town. I remember being at my boyfriend Russell Crumley's house during the opening ceremonies, Elizabeth Manley winning the sliver medal in figure skating, and being scooted off to bed trying to watch the closing ceremony! So this time I want to make the most of it!! This ladies and gentlemen could get very very interesting!! OHHHH I'M GIDDY!!!

SWEDEN WINS GOLD IN HOCKEY!!!!!

I, just like every other Canadian is shocked that the Canadian were shut out of the medal rounds of hockey. Although from what I seen the only real effort that they put in was the game against Russia and they still got their ass kicked.

Anyways...

I am pretty happy that Sweden won the gold in hockey. Not only does it make my husband a very happy man, and a happy man is easier to deal with than one who has a major pout on, but it makes my brother-in-law in Finland whine!! This is irony at it's best! He is one of the minority of Finns, he is a Swedish speaking Finn. They are a dying breed in Finland. You would think that because he speaks Swedish that we would identify more with the Swedes; nope other than the Swedish speaking branch of the Finnish military he totally identifies with the Finns. Oh well at least I know I have a happy husband!

Trying to find just one ounce of motivation!

My motivation this year has gone out the window and has flown away. For all I know it could be on some island in the South Pacific enjoying the beach and sunshine.

I had this week off from school and so far the only things that I have done is study for one of my midterms and get ready for a presentation next week. That's it. I have two article reviews and 4 midterm papers still to write and the only thing that I am doing right resting comfortably in my bed. That's right because I decided to work 5 days this week I have totally worn myself out and I cannot muster enough energy to get out of bed and get something accomplished. I only have five more months of school left to complete and then I will have my degree.

I can do it. I CAN DO IT!

Anyone up for a Timmy's in Afganistan!?!

So I was watching The National on the CBC tonight ( yeah I know I am actually watching the CBC!)and they had a story about how with the new government, there is an increased (uh duh!) likelihood that our mediocre military is going to get some funds. Now I do have some opinions on this one. The military has had an absolutely horrible habit of wasting money. My parents have many stories from their years of working at the old CFB Penhold. But more recently was the fire on the made-over British submarine that caught fire and please forgive me for not putting it here but I can't spell worth a shit right now!
Anyways the head honcho of the military is coming up with a shopping list that he is going to take to our fuck head Prime Minister (see, didn't mention his name!) of ours. It's the usual stuff, some helicopters and tanks, BUT A TIM HORTON'S IN AFGANISTAN!?!?!?!?!?

Yeah I think that I am going to leave it here...

The chruch mouse gets a backbone!

There is a girl at work who, god bless her, is devoted to her faith deeeeeeeeeeeeply. She's the sweetest little thing. I honestly thought that when I first met her that she would be the most frigid person on the face of the earth, there are still some days that I think so. But today! THE GIRL GREW A BACKBONE!!!! Some of the old bitches at work really rag on the poor thing because she is still so naive to alot of the stuff that she is subjected to (ie: the mile-high club). But oh my I can't wait for the day when she says something to the Queen Bitch. Oh my oh my to be a fly on the wall!

The reason why reality television will not last!

I am watching The Bachelor right now, and lets face it there is a reason why some of these people are single. Oh my gosh, if my friends caught me doing something like that I am sure that they would kick me in the ass and say "hello!" I really enjoyed The Real World, yeah it was something of a simple social experiment, I can understand that hell I enjoy it. Big Brother is another one too, it's more social experiement than a power stuggle, and even then that doesn't seem desparate as what some of these women are!

It's snowing!

I love it! It's driving kaos out there. Accidents everywhere because people were dumb enough to not take the proper precautions when it comes to driving in adverse weather conditions!

Therefore I have devised a list of helpful tips to help you all out:
1. Make sure that you are driving for the weather conditions, if it looks like the pavement is wet assume that there is also ice on the pavement because chances are it is.
2. Wear your seatbelt. I seen an accident last year where someone died from not wearing their seatbelt. She was thrown 20 meters from her truck when it was stuck by a greyhound bus! I WATCHED HER DIE!!!!!! WEAR YOUR FUCKIN SEAT BELT!!!
3. Make sure that your tires are not all season tires, winter is not all season, and neither should your tires be. (Very important Finnish winter surivial tip!)
4. Make sure that your cell phone is with you. This is the only reason why there should be a cell phone in your vehicle. This is so you can call 911, or a tow truck, not your brother Bobby to see what's he's up to.
5. Make sure that you radio works because OH MY GOD they just might have a traffic report on there, and guess what, they just might tell you that it is not worth it to be out there and to get the fuck off the roads because it's just not safe.
6. Turn off your cruise control, I don't know how many people do this but chances are there are a few out there so quit doing it!

There happy safe and fun winter driving everyone!!

GO CANADA GO!!!

So fuckin eh! Canada beat Sweden 4-1 in women's hockey today and that totally rocks and well now I have one up on my husband who is a Swede.

What a good day!

So I got up this morning dreading getting out of bed because last night before mom went to bed she told me that RBC called again. I was thinking oh great I get to spend another day on the phone talking to about 3 different people who don't know anything about doing their jobs. But they just called to tell me that they had finally gotten my file updated, and that I don't owe them anything. Which is nice because I really didn't want to go through the hassle of getting my mom to write them a cheque, but then again the Bank of Mom offers a rate that does not compare to any bank!

So after that I called my hubby because it seems like weeks since we talked (only a day or two) and it turns out that his mother is one step closer to booking the tickets for their trip this summer. That's nice because it would be nice to start putting in for holidays soon.

Then off to school, this was the only bad part of the day because the prof is a crackpot and we have been talking about the same thing for three days now! I think it is time to get on something different but then again judging by some of the dumbass questions that were asked it might be a few days longer. I swear that thinking logically for some people takes more brain power than what they are totally capable of!

So I went for lunch with one of the ladies that I work with, I say lady because she is only a few days older than my mom but is a hell of a lot of fun to be around with. Turns out that her step-daughter had to take a friend to the hospital and needer to someone to look after her daughter for a bit. Well that's ok. "Beaner", as what she is affectionately known as amongst her family, is a good kid anyways and did put up much of a fuss. So when her dad came to pick her up it was game on for lunch. We ended up going to Montana's. Absolutely delicious. And I was introduced to one sinful dessert, Deep-fried Cheesecake. OH MY GOD. This is a close substitute to sex!

So once I got my officially fat ass home, I turned on the TV to see that Canada had a very good day today at the Olympics. One gold, one silver, and one bronze, and we have secured another medal for women's hockey. This is fantastic!! Canada vs Sweden. Hubby get your hockey sticks out, we're gonna have some fun!

So my mom gets home and tells me a rather ironic story. My second cousin, who was born out of wedlock much to the dismay of her grandmother, who is my aunt (although not really anymore because she disowned my father, mother and I) just gave birth to a little girl. The irony is that she unmarried as well. I can just imagine what my aunt was saying. (BITCH!) And to think that my aunts on my dad's side were so concerned the first time that I went to Sweden thinking that I was going to go over there and get pregnant! I'm not going to say anything here because if I did I am pretty sure that my blog would be taken offline! Although congrats to my little cousin and hope that you recover well and fast, some slight complications right now but it should pass.

And last but not least my hubby called me again. He just got home from his little paper route. Fucking goddamn Swedish unemployment! Anyways it turns out that his sister and her boyfriend will show up about a week before my mother-in-law and father-in-law, and his sister and her boyfriend will depart shortly after the wedding, so that means that the full house won't seem as full for as long! And so it is off to bed because I am working a rare Saturday shift tomorrow and well this week is going to be long one because it is reading week, I have a huge list of things to do and to top it all off, I am also working an astonishing 5 shifts next week. I stole 3 shifts from one co-worker because nobody likes to work with her! Ha ha ha hahahahahahahahahaha ha ha hahahahahahahahahahaha ha haha haha hahaha!!

What a day for Canada!!

4 medals in one day. That has to be a record right??

It's freezing cold here and I have decided that it is just best to stay curled up in my chair with my dog.

Oh and I was told today that I have a fat ass!

Sitting through yet another boring library session!

There's one girl who just won't shut the fuck up!

It's snowing!!!!!!!!!!!

It's wonderful!!! You can't see anything out there, the road reports that are coming into the radio stations say that it is getting bad! I love days like these. Although I am a bit concerned at the moment because I am Red Deer at school until 9 tonight which means by that time the roads could be closed off and I am stuck here in the city. It's not as bad as what you might think, it just means a slumber party over at a co-worker's place but it means that I am screwed in terms of work because I don't have a uniform to wear. I guess I will have to call in hookey.

Now everything is white and so peaceful looking!
